Hosting Asigra with Amazon

Ya, I agree -- but the prospect probably sees 99.95% uptime posted on the Amazon site and wants to start providing an online backup service using Amazon Web Services so they don't incur any upfront capital investment on servers and storage infrastructure. However, it's It's also cost prohibitive -- it may seem cheaper up front, but not only does Amazon charge for capacity, they also charge for access. I would try to convince them otherwise, but if they are determine to host their DS-System with Amazon, ensure that you counsel them on the importance of having a fail-over solution in place. And honestly, this applies to any cloud backup software from any vendor.

Cool thanks. It is a brit customer who loves Amazon hence there desire to work with it. Turns out an Asigra DS System cannot be deployed into S3 and runs into problems when you cross the 1TB threshold in EC2. Blah.....
