General Community Rules

Hey Everyone,

I need some help in developing some rules and guidelines for BackupHeroes.com! I've come up with a list of some rules we may want to include but I need your feedback. If you could reply to this thread with one or two changes or additions you would like to see, that'd be great and we can work towards finalizing a Code of Conduct for our community.

We'll eventually use these rules as the basis for community moderation.

Here's what I have so far:

• Obscene, racist or sexually explicit language is not allowed. It is the Community Manager’s responsibility and right to remove any defaming or insulting content

• Anything deemed inappropriate, off-topic or otherwise questionable will be removed.

• Do not post messages that serve primarily to drive forum members to other forums or web sites in which you have a stake. It is, however, acceptable to list your personal web site URL in your profile and/or in your signature.

• All active accounts MUST be associated with a valid and functional email address. Any accounts associated with email addresses that are found to not accept any emails, or are otherwise deemed to be faked or invalid in any way, will be disabled immediately.

• No solicitations or advertisements are allowed.

• Always distinguish between your work and someone else’s. Please note your source of information if it’s not your own.

• You are responsible for your own writing and should use the information provided on BackupHeroes.com at your own risk.

• Forum posts are solely the individual opinion of its author, and even when expressed by an employee of any organization it does not necessarily represent the viewpoint or position of that organization.

• As an author of content in any forum post, you take personal responsibility for that content – its accuracy, tone, legal ownership and all other aspects.

• The non-respect of these rules may affect your reputation ranking negatively or lead to the deletion of your account from BackupHeroes.com permanently.

• The rules of this community are subject to change as the community evolves.
